About the farm
In February 2007, the Fundação Procafé signed a rural property assignment agreement with the CAPEBE (Cooperativa de Boa Esperança). The experimental unit has a total area of 17ha, all cultivated with coffee intended for experimentation, an altitude of 840m and natural cerrado vegetation.
Research in Development
Genetic improvement – 7 experiments are installed to select and develop new coffee cultivars.
Pests and diseases – 5 research works seeking more efficient solutions for the control of the main diseases and pests that attack the coffee tree, always seeking greater productivity and profitability for the coffee grower.
Ecology and physiology – 4 field trials, with the objective of finding ways of sustainability in coffee production.
Nutrition – 13 experiments on the farm, focusing on rational fertilization and nutritional balance of the crop.
